Seedance 2.0 is available in ComfyUI through official Partner Nodes. The current integration is an API workflow: ComfyUI provides the node graph and orchestration, while the closed-source Seedance model runs through the partner service. You do not need to clone an unofficial custom-node repository or download local Seedance weights.
This guide covers the three official workflow types—text-to-video (T2V), reference-to-video (R2V), and first-last-frame-to-video (FLF2V)—plus setup, prompt structure, real-person verification, and the errors most likely to block a first run.
Seedance ComfyUI quick answer
Use the latest ComfyUI version, sign in to a Comfy account, add credits for Partner Nodes, and load a Seedance 2.0 workflow from the Template Library or the official workflow-template repository. Choose T2V when the prompt is your only input, R2V when images, video, or audio should guide the result, and FLF2V when you need a controlled transition between a starting and ending frame.
The most important distinction is that running ComfyUI on your own computer does not make Seedance 2.0 a local model. The interface and workflow can be local, but the Partner Node sends the generation request to a hosted API. That means local VRAM is not the main generation requirement; account access, credits, a current ComfyUI build, and a permitted network environment matter more.
What you need before loading a workflow

ComfyUI recommends the latest build and notes that the Nightly version can receive Partner Node updates before a stable Desktop release. If the Seedance node is missing, update ComfyUI before installing anything from an unofficial repository.
Choose the right Seedance 2.0 workflow
Text-to-video (T2V)
Choose T2V when you want the prompt to define the subject, setting, action, camera, lighting, pacing, and audio direction. It is the fastest workflow for testing an idea because it has no reference-media dependency.
Best for:
- cinematic concept tests;
- short-form social scenes;
- product or environment shots without a fixed reference;
- testing camera language before adding continuity constraints.

Reference-to-video (R2V)
Choose R2V when one or more images, videos, or audio files should guide appearance, motion, timing, or rhythm. A reference is not a substitute for instructions: the prompt should still explain what must remain stable and what is allowed to change.
Best for:
- maintaining a product, outfit, environment, or fictional character;
- transferring camera rhythm from a reference clip;
- guiding motion with video while controlling the final visual treatment;
- synchronizing a scene with an audio reference.

First-last-frame-to-video (FLF2V)
Choose FLF2V when the beginning and ending composition are already known. The two frames provide visible anchors while the prompt explains how the subject and camera travel between them.
Best for:
- transformation sequences;
- product reveals;
- controlled entrances and exits;
- matching two storyboard frames;
- transitions where the final composition matters.

Seedance 2.0 Mini workflows
The official Template Library also includes Seedance 2.0 Mini T2V and R2V workflows for faster iteration. Start with Mini when you are testing prompt structure, references, or shot direction, then compare the result with the full workflow before committing to a production sequence.
How to install and run Seedance 2.0 in ComfyUI
1. Update ComfyUI first
Update Desktop through the app, or update your Portable or self-hosted installation using its normal update method. Restart ComfyUI after updating. Do not begin by cloning a third-party comfyui-seedance repository: the supported route is the official Partner Node included in current ComfyUI builds.
2. Sign in and check credits
Open Settings → User and sign in to your Comfy account. Then open Settings → Credits and confirm that the balance is greater than zero. Partner Nodes call hosted closed-source models, so they are not free local inference nodes.
If a self-hosted interface is exposed through a LAN address or an unapproved domain, normal login may fail. Use localhost or 127.0.0.1 for local access. For headless or alternative frontends, follow ComfyUI's account API-key integration guidance rather than placing credentials inside a workflow file.
3. Load an official workflow
Open the ComfyUI Template Library and search for Seedance 2.0. If the template is not visible, use the official JSON links above and load the file into ComfyUI. A missing node after import normally indicates an outdated build or a node import failure—not a missing community package.
4. Replace the example inputs
For T2V, replace the prompt and review the duration, aspect ratio, and other exposed controls. For R2V, upload only the references needed for the shot and describe the role of each reference. For FLF2V, make sure the first and last frames describe the same subject and a physically plausible transition.
5. Run a short validation job
Before generating a long or complex scene, test a concise prompt with a single action and a clear camera instruction. Confirm that authentication, credits, inputs, and output handling work. Then add references, multiple action beats, audio direction, or more demanding continuity rules one layer at a time.
A prompt structure that works with node workflows
A useful Seedance prompt separates controllable decisions instead of stacking adjectives. Use this structure:
SUBJECT: Who or what appears, including stable identity details.
SETTING: Location, time, weather, depth layers, and important objects.
ACTION: One visible opening state, action sequence, and ending state.
CAMERA: Shot size, angle, lens character, movement, speed, and direction.
LIGHT AND LOOK: Key light, contrast, palette, texture, and mood.
AUDIO: Dialogue, ambience, effects, or music cues when relevant.
CONTINUITY: Details that must not change across the clip.

Local ComfyUI vs hosted Seedance API
This distinction causes many installation problems:
- ComfyUI can run locally. The graph editor, local nodes, file handling, and other open models can run on your machine.
- Seedance 2.0 Partner Nodes are hosted API nodes. The closed-source model is not downloaded into your local models folder.
- Local VRAM does not determine Seedance inference quality. VRAM can still matter for other local nodes used before or after the Partner Node.
- There is no supported need to install an unofficial Seedance custom node when the current official Partner Node is available.
- A Comfy account and credits are required for Partner Node execution.
This hybrid model is useful when a workflow combines local preprocessing or compositing nodes with a hosted Seedance generation step. It is not the same as running the full Seedance model offline.
Using real-person references safely
AI-generated fictional portraits can use the standard Seedance 2.0 workflows, subject to the service's classification checks. A real person's portrait or appearance footage uses the Seedance 2.0 Real Human workflow and the ByteDance Create Image/Video Asset node.
On the first use, the person completes a one-time liveness verification. The workflow then returns a Group ID for the verified person and an Asset ID for the specific media. A later image or video of the same person can reuse the Group ID and may not require another liveness check when the identity matches.
Only upload likenesses you are authorized to use. Do not publish Group IDs, Asset IDs, account API keys, or private workflow credentials in a public GitHub repository.
Troubleshooting Seedance ComfyUI workflows
The Seedance node is missing
Update ComfyUI and restart it. If you are on a stable Desktop build, the relevant node or template may arrive later than it does in Nightly. Check the official template repository before installing a similarly named community node.
The workflow loads with red or unknown nodes
Confirm that the JSON came from the official Comfy-Org workflow-template repository and that your ComfyUI build is current. Review the startup log for failed imports. An official API workflow should not require the fictional nodes previously described in older third-party guides.
ComfyUI keeps asking you to sign in
For a local installation, open the interface through 127.0.0.1 or localhost. LAN addresses and insecure or non-whitelisted hosts can prevent API-node authentication. Also confirm that the account has a positive credit balance.
The job does not start
Check account authentication, credits, network access, and whether the input files finished uploading. Then remove optional references and test the smallest T2V workflow. If the minimal workflow runs, reintroduce the other inputs one at a time.
The result ignores a reference
State what each reference controls. Avoid giving multiple references conflicting responsibility for the same face, outfit, object, or environment. Put the non-negotiable continuity requirements into the prompt instead of expecting the model to infer them.
The transition flickers or changes identity
Reduce the number of simultaneous action beats, use cleaner reference frames, and make the opening and ending states explicit. For FLF2V, check that the two frames contain compatible subjects, scale, camera direction, and scene geometry.
Can Seedance 2.0 run fully offline in ComfyUI?
Not through the official Partner Node workflow. ComfyUI can be local, but the Seedance 2.0 generation step is a hosted API call.
Workflow and security checklist
Before sharing a workflow publicly:
- remove account API keys and private identifiers;
- do not include Group IDs or Asset IDs from real-person verification;
- use only media you have permission to redistribute;
- identify the ComfyUI version used for testing;
- link to the original official template;
- explain whether the workflow uses paid Partner Nodes;
- verify every download link from a logged-out browser;
- include the prompt, expected inputs, and known limitations.
